- The rule of thumb when burning a candle is to burn it for the diameter of the candle. For instance, if your candle were 2" in diameter, then you would burn it for 2 hours. This will help create an even melt pool. You don't want to burn a candle for more than four hours at a time.
- Keep your wicks trimmed to 1/4 inch. When you keep the wick trimmed, you will have less soot release from the wicks. (You can use nail clippers to clip your wick if you don't like to clip it with your fingers.)
- NEVER burn a candle near a draft. Drafts can cause the candle to burn unevenly and smoke.
- NEVER leave a burning candle unattended or in direct sunlight. Burn your candle responsibly.
- Place your candle on a flat, temperature-safe surface. Container candles can get very hot, especially if they are burned for consecutive hours.
- You should discontinue burning your candle when only a 1/2 inch of wax is left in the bottom. Burning your candle completely empty may burn the surface your candle is sitting on.
Take care when burning!
